My name is Steve Wilson and I am a freelance author, artist and travelogue maker. Before taking early retirement in 2002 I spent thirty six years in the NHS. I was involved in paying the remuneration of general medical and dental practitioners, in addition to opticians and pharmacists. As this entailed working inside for all those years, I loved travelling and being outside in my leisure time and then in my retirement. I was always interested in photography from an early age and used this hobby to record the trips I have made over the years. Making videos of those trips was a natural addition. These travelogues give an idea of what the town or village is like and may help in deciding whether a visit is worthwhile or not. They are available to view on YouTube. Details of how to find them are shown on the Travelogue Videos page. My love of painting came out of nowhere. One summer's day I just decided I would like to start painting, and so went off and bought a few books on the subject. I use photographs as the source material for my paintings, as opposed to setting up an easel, and painting what I see before me. Many of the subjects come from the photos I have taken on my trips. Referring to the occasional blog I will publish on TV dramas, a few years ago I had another desire to start writing novels. The number of times I said to myself, or family and friends "i could do better than that rubbish" and so I decided I would have a go. My genre is crime fiction, in particular detective novels. These books are available from Amazon bookstore, details of which can be found on my Books page.
